More than 260 guests attended the Hospital’s first ever HEART (Helpfulness, Excellence, Achievement, Resourcefulness and Talent) awards. A total of 90 nominations from among Hospital staff and volunteers, were received for the awards, with a shortlist of three in each of the categories.

Barnsley Community Solutions the development company partly owned by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and NHS Barnsley have received full planning permission for their next four Health & Social Care Centres at Hoyland, Darton, Athersley \ New Lodge and Great Houghton.

The new health centre at Cudworth was officially opened on Saturday 29 November 2008 by Councillor Stephen Houghton C.B.E., Leader of BMBC and Tom Sheard, Chairman of NHS Barnsley.

FOR the community of Cudworth the waiting is finally over as their new state-of-the-art health centre was officially handed over to Barnsley Primary Care Trust (PCT) and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC) on Monday (11 August) by Barnsley Community Solutions (BCS).
